Huge congrats to Chad Hetrick! He smashed his goal and placed second in a really stacked field at the Arkansas Traveller 100 with a time of 16:52:50!

In this episode, I had the pleasure of catching up

In this episode, I had the pleasure of catching up with Nick Fowler for the third time. Now, you might remember Nick as the guy who conquered the Self-Supported Fastest Known Time (FKT) on the Pacific Northwest Trail and the Ozark Trail in our previous chats. Back then, he was dealing with some pesky ankle injuries but was determinedly preparing for a shot at the Self-Supported FKT on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT).

It's been a fantastic journey following Nick's evolution as a runner, hiker, and all-around person. And guess what? Nick not only took on the PCT challenge but crushed it in a jaw-dropping 52 days, 9 hours, and 18 minutes! We dive deep into his experiences, lessons learned, and how he's grown. His journey has it all….including blood, sweat, and tears!

So, if you're up for some inspiring stories and a good dose of ultrarunning enthusiasm, you're in for a treat. Nick's journey is a testament to dedication and pushing boundaries, and it's always a blast chatting with him!

Jodi Semonell is a strong runner who loves running

Jodi Semonell is a strong runner who loves running tough races! She’s done the Hitchcock 100 many times, Cocodona 250 twice, Across the Years 200, Western States, Leadville 100, the Hardrock 100, and many more!

Just recently she ran across Nebraska (495 miles in 11 days!) in memory of her son and 2 friends who died of carbon monoxide poisoning. It’s her desire to encourage people to install carbon monoxide detectors in their homes and check the batteries on those that are already installed.

In this episode of the Run the Riot Podcast, I had an amazing chat with Kayla Straub, the beast of Kansas!. Kayla's journey into running is pretty incredible. She didn't start long ago, but when she did, she dove in headfirst. Her first ultramarathon was the extremely hot and exposed Honey Badger 100 in June 2020. She snagged second place right out of the gate!

But that's just the beginning of her story. In 2021, she went back to the Honey Badger 100 and came out as the champion. Talk about determination, right? And then, in 2022, she set the Kansas state female record at the Prairie Spirit 100.

She's overcome some seriously tough personal challenges before she even laced up her running shoes. Her story is not just about running; it's about resilience and grit in the face of adversity.

And she's not stopping there. Kayla has some big goals for her future races, and she thrives on challenges. It's not just about the medals; it's about pushing her own limits and proving that anything is possible.

But Kayla's life isn't all about running. She lives on a farm with her kids, juggling the demands of parenthood with her passion for running. Kayla is demonstrating what can happen when you embrace your dreams and overcome life's hurdles. So, be sure to listen in and get inspired by Kayla Straub's incredible story!

You see this pretty lady I'm standing next to? Do you know what she did? She followed me around the desert and mountains around Moab, out in the middle of nowhere, with little or no phone reception, waited hours, and then took care of my every need when I came into the aid station. She was completely selfless in making sure I survived and thrived during the race! Then, she drove the entire 14.5 hours back home so I could limp into work today!

Be jealous! She's mine! 🙂 Thank you so much, baby!!!! Team Theriot Rules!!

Running 50 miles is tough. Running 50 miles in th

Running 50 miles is tough. Running 50 miles in the mountains is tougher. Running 50 miles in the mountains severely undertrained and with a bum knee is toughest and hurts like heck! I got it done though. Silver Rush 50m in the books in 11:27:00. An hour and 26 minutes slower than 2 years ago. (I was trained up then and the knee wasn’t mad at me! lol)

I enjoyed some truck camping in the mountains before and after the race.

Blessed and grateful for every step.
